A launch event took place on Thursday 20th November at Bede’s World in Jarrow. The event was organised by the South Tyneside Workplace Alliance which is a partnership between the NHS (PCT), South Tyneside Council, local business, and the voluntary sector, to inform and influence health improvement with the workplace.

Many local businesses attended the event and were able to find out what is available in South Tyneside to improve workplace health. They were able to see a number of presentations from those who have been involved in workplace health initiatives for their staff.

Taster sessions were also on offer, with the opportunity to test and sample examples of current services and activities that could be offered to workplaces. This included, the Health Trainer Service, Self Care Programmes, Stop Smoking Service, Health and Lifestyle Advisor Service, Easyline Exercise Equipment, Sports Recycler, Walking Works Wonders, Cycletrex, Public Health Improvement Information Team, Connect and First Aid at Work.
